Adelaide Crows has beaten the Brisbane Lions to win the inaugural AFLW Grand Final, 4-11 (35) to 4-5 (29). Adelaide dominated play in the first half and should have been further ahead but for wasted opportunities in front of goal.
Brisbane came back hard in the second half to get within one goal late in the last quarter. Erin Phillips was fittingly in the thick of the action when the final siren sounded and was later named most valuable player.
After a stunning debut season, footy fans from all over Australia are looking forward to more AFLW action in 2018.
